Deck expansion for an offshore platform

Offshore constructions are one of EMS’s specialities. We frequently work on various projects, and take them seriously, no matter their size. This time, we designed and manufactured a deck expansion (laydown) for an offshore platform. The project included an offshore survey where our innovative engineering team cooperated with the customer to come up with the best design for the job.

The construction was designed taking regard to ease the installation process, including an instruction for installation made in-house. The offshore installation is going to be performed by EMS’s own offshore team. All the documentation, calculations, and drawings were made in-house. The construction was also 3rd party approved, including design verification and fabrication survey.

The project, including survey, design, and project management, was led by our Project Engineer, Lasse Uth Eschelsen.

The project also included the design, fabrication, and installation of a caged ladder to ease access between decks.

Our engineering team is constantly faced with simple and complex design challenges for which they always find innovative and efficient solutions. All our projects and products are made in accordance with the requirements of the customer. The team is working with the 3D CAD Inventor software. This software allows detailed, in-depth and shared development of technical information, production item lists and design specifications. 

The pictures show in order the test-assembled offshore construction, the construction surface-treated and in the process of being packed for offshore shipping.
